Defending Prosecutions
What is the service we offer?
Our Criminal Law Department deals with the full
range of criminal, road traffic and regulatory
offences and our lawyers are available on an
emergency basis for people in custody 24 hours
a day, 365 days a year. We believe that
everyone accused of a crime has the right to a
strong, committed defence.
How much will it cost?
We have a contract with the Legal Service
Commission (LSC) to provide publicly
funded legal services. If we attend at a
police station with you there will be no
charge to you. In court proceedings you
may be eligible to have our fees paid
by the LSC.
How the service works
We can represent you at both police station
and at court and will handle your case from
start to finish. If you are being questioned
at a police station in connection with any
crime, you should ask for a legal
representative to be contacted on your
behalf. This service is free to everyone and
is not means tested. Asking for the firm by
name will ensure that a specialist solicitor or
Accredited Police Station Representative will
promptly speak to you before attending the
police station to assist you in any interview.
If you are charged with an offence we can
advise you further and arrange for your
representation at the Magistrates' Court,
Crown Court or any appeal.
We have extensive expertise in relation to all
enquiries undertaken by the police and other
investigative bodies such as The Department
For Work And Pensions, Trading Standards
and Health And Safety Executive.
Who is it for?
We provide professional advice and defence to
individuals from all walks of life and all parts of
the UK against the full range of criminal
allegations, whether brought by charge or
summons, including burglaries, assaults, excess
alcohol and drug-related crime. We deal with all
vehicle related offences including situations
where a driving licence is at risk.
We are trained to deal with all clients in a
sympathetic and confidential manner. We are
also well aware that being charged with even a
minor offence can be distressing, both as an
experience and because of the
consequences. Our aim is to vigorously
defend your rights from the start and then
continue to help you obtain the best
possible outcome.
